FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What time should I arrive?
    Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to give time to fill out any necessary paperwork or get x-rays done.
  • Can I get x-rays done at my appointment?
    Yes! Our offices offer on-site imaging at all locations: x-ray and ultrasound in the Upper East Side, x-ray, ultrasound, and MRI in Scarsdale, and x-ray and ultrasound in Downtown Manhattan. If you have recently gotten x-rays, MRI, or any other imaging related to your injury, please bring the actual films (on a CD) as well as a report that you may have gotten from the imaging facility with you to your appointment.
  • What should I bring with me to my appointment?
    Please be sure to bring the following items with you to your appointment: Your insurance card and photo ID. New patient forms, if you have decided to complete them in advance. Copies of all pertinent medical records such as imaging records, including the actual films or discs. Worker's compensation information, if applicable.
  • Who do I call with questions regarding my injury?
    Do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Bedford or his Physician Assistant, Meredith. You can reach them via telephone or the Patient Portal. Although they are with patients or in surgery throughout the day and return most phone calls at the end of the day, they strive to return all messages within 24 hours of receipt.
  • I am new to NY Orthopedics. Will I need to fill out forms?
    Yes, when you arrive you will be asked to fill out new patient paperwork. You may find Dr. Bedford's new patient paperwork here.
  • Who do I call if I have a question about my appointment?
    Please call the office at 212-737-3301 for any questions.
  • I am a surgical patient and I have a question. Who do I call?
    If you're a surgical patient (has scheduled surgery or just had surgery) and you have a question, please call surgical coordinator Jasmin, or write her a message here. If you are looking for post-operative instructions, you may find your procedure and the attached post operative instructions here.
  • Do you have after hours care?
    If you are having a life threatening emergency, call 911. If you call after clinic hours, the answering service will receive your call. For urgent problems requiring immediate attention, the answering service will page the on-call physician who will call you back as soon as possible.
  • Do you take my insurance?
    Please call our office at 212-737-3301 to discuss insurance information.
